Etsy Smart Shopper is a free Chrome extension developed and maintained by Burak Delibacak, an independent developer based in ฤฐzmir, Turkey.

What data this extension collects
None whatsoever.
Etsy Smart Shopper does not collect, record, transmit, sell, or share any personal information, browsing data, or usage data. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no usage tracking of any kind built into this extension.
The data you enter into the extension โ your comparison list, price history logs, quality ratings, notes, and alert targets โ is stored exclusively in Chrome's local extension storage API (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. It never leaves your browser.
What permissions the extension requests and why
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions. Each is explained below:
- storage โ To save your comparison list, price history, and alert targets locally in your browser between sessions.
- notifications โ To send a browser notification when a tracked listing reaches your target price. Notifications are generated locally; no notification data is sent to external servers.
- alarms โ To check your price alerts every 30 minutes in the background, even when you're not actively using the extension.
- tabs โ To open the comparison dashboard in a new tab when you click "View all" from within an Etsy listing page.
- host permission for etsy.com โ To inject the comparison widget into Etsy listing pages. The extension only activates on pages matching
https://www.etsy.com/listing/*. It does not access any other website.
How your data is stored
All data created by the extension is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This means:
- Data is stored only on the device where you have the extension installed.
- Data is not synced to Chrome's cloud sync service.
- Data is not accessible by any website, including Etsy.
- Data is not accessible by Burak Delibacak or any third party.
- Data persists until you uninstall the extension or manually clear extension storage.
To delete all stored data, you can uninstall the extension or go to chrome://extensions โ Details โ Clear Storage.
Third-party services
Etsy Smart Shopper does not integrate with, load resources from, or send data to any third-party services.
The extension includes convenience links to AliExpress and eBay that open in a new tab when clicked. These links open the respective websites in your browser as standard navigation โ the extension does not send any data to those sites on your behalf.
The extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Etsy, Inc. "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.
Cookies and tracking
This extension uses no cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, session recording, or any other tracking technology. It does not monitor your behaviour on Etsy or any other website beyond detecting the price and title of the listing page you are currently viewing, in order to pre-fill the comparison widget.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the extension collects no data from any user, this requirement is met by design.
Changes to this policy
If I make any material changes to this privacy policy โ for example, if a future version of the extension introduces any form of data collection โ I will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. I will also publish a changelog note in the Chrome Web Store listing.
Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Your rights
Because I collect no personal data, there is nothing for me to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. All data associated with the extension exists only on your device and is fully under your control.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you should be aware that this extension โ by design โ does not process any personal data as defined by those laws. There is no data controller relationship between you and Burak Delibacak with respect to this extension.
